Transcript Requirement
SACS and Regent University require all faculty and adjunct faculty employed by Regent University to have "official transcripts" on file in the Human Resources Department. All degrees above and beyond the undergraduate level (master's and doctorate) will be required. If the faculty member does not have a terminal degree, then the undergraduate degree may be required. The School of Communication and the Arts seeks a tenure-track faculty position, commencing August 1, 2013, Open Rank. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to direct theses, portfolios and dissertations and conduct original research leading to publication. Assistant Professor
Special Education
The Regent University School of Education invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Special Education beginning in the Fall 2012 semester. This is a renewable, one-year, tenure track position. Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in Special Education and Reading or related field; evidence of expertise in teaching online and in a traditional classroom setting; special education and reading classroom teaching experience in K-12 settings; and evidence of the ability and interest to produce publications. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of Virginia Licensure requirements, IDEA, inclusion models; knowledge and experience in the area of reading instruction; willingness to create collaborative relationships with surrounding school districts; knowledge about the current operation of school district special education programs; interest in and commitment to working in applied educational settings; and skill in collaboration and collegiality. Responsibilities: teach primarily graduate courses in special education, and perform research and publish in their respective field. The successful candidate will primarily provide support to graduate students. FACULTY POSITION
Counseling
The Counseling Department in Regent University’s School of Psychology and Counseling is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position (rank open) commencing with Fall 2012. The department is seeking faculty to teach in both the master’s and doctoral-level counseling programs accredited by CACREP. We seek persons who can integrate the Christian faith with the counseling profession in an ethical and competent manner while the positions balance teaching, research, and service. A doctorate in Counselor Education or closely related field with a clearly established counselor identity is required. Applicants who are licensed or license-eligible, graduates of a CACREP program, and who have clinical counseling experience are highly desired. There is particular interest in hiring a mid-level faculty member with prior experience in academic administration, as well as applicants who can contribute specifically to the enhancement of the school counseling program and/or assist with the anticipated development of programs in addictions and marriage and family counseling. FACULTY POSITION
Clinical Psychology
The Department of Psychology invites nominations and applications for two openings for a professor of Psychology, rank open, with potential for leadership roles. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment to our APA-accredited Psy.D. program, which trains professional psychologists to practice Psychotherapy and assessment skills with an emphasis on Christian integration and service to underserved populations. Included in this training is work experience in the Department's Psychological Services Center, which offers psychological services to the community and the campus. The School of Psychology and Counseling is also home to several centers of thought and action including the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity, the Marriage and Ministry Assessment Training and Empowerment Center, and the Center for Trauma Studies. A colleague who will add disciplinary expertise and leadership skills to the Department is desired. Position Description: The position requires teaching, service, and research responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. The ideal candidate will be expected to serve in a departmental leadership role associated with expanding the role of the psychology department on campus while contributing to the PsyD program. The position is expected to spend over 60% of its time in teaching, supervision and mentoring responsibilities. Due to the expected leadership role, the person in this position should demonstrate being a team player with a cooperative attitude. The position will be a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience; summer work is typical, if desired, and under separate contract. Required Qualifications include: a terminal degree in Psychology from an accredited program; demonstrated excellence in teaching, scholarship and service; leadership experience; and licensure as a psychologist, or license-eligible.
