Video can enhance teaching and learning. According to Regent Law Professor Charles Oates, video offers an additional dimension in the classroom. Class discussion is energized as video taps into emotions which stimulate and generate excitement in the classroom.

Video is particularly effective for auditory or visual learners. In addition, retention is enhanced since information received visually is retained longer than information provided only through reading.

Professor Oates collaborated with CTL to produce a legal ethics video entitled, Missing Persons Dilemma. This video is a dramatic reenactment based partially on an actual case. You can take a look for yourself by watching the video now.

And on top of all that, Missing Persons Dilemma has won two Telly Awards! Now you know!

Dr. Elisabeth Suarez of Regent's School of Psychology and Counseling utilizes Wimba Live Classroom to provide her students with personal interactivity in synchronous and asynchronous learning.

If you teach online and find the psychological distance between you and your students to be daunting, try using Live Classroom. Students can ask questions in real time, and sessions can be archived so that they can review the material repeatedly and at their own pace.

Using Voice Emails is another great way to connect with students. They receive verbal feedback on assignments with the added benefit of hearing voice inflection to make a more accurate interpretation of comments. What's more, voice emails are much less time consuming to create than typing out each observation on student work.

Dr. Suarez reports that her students are receiving a deeper understanding of course content, making enhanced connections with their classmates and feeling more engaged within the online environment. Try out these tools today!
