Did you know... With the new Regent Training System or RTS you can manage your training?
RTS allows you to view or print current or past events you registered for, send an e-mail to your supervisor listing your completed training, cancel an event registration, and update your information. Simply go to the Regent Training System web page at regent.edu/rts . Click on Manage My Training in the menu on the left. Sign in with your MyRegent ID and password. Don't forget, your MyRegent ID is your e-mail address without the "@regent.edu" on the end.

iTunes U with Chelsea Kelley

This fall, students will be able to professors' podcasts via iTunes U. iTunes U is a free service by Apple that allows you to easily manage and deliver a broad range of portable audio, video, and documents to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the public.
Regent University on iTunes U will provide high quality learning experiences for students. It supports the university mission and it's attractive to prospective students. In addition, more than one half of the nation's top universities and colleges are using this technology.
An iPod is not needed to download the content. Regent is currently in the pilot phase of this launch; however, you can begin to upload content today.
CTL can answer podcasting iTunes U questions. Contact us at ctl@regent.edu

Each year, 12 faculty members are selected from all Regent schools to participate in MIP. Participants meet over lunch to present their ideas and stimulate discussion about teaching and learning at Regent. They visit each other's classes in a collaborative coaching experience. Most importantly, they develop a bond with other faculty from across disciplines. Certified faculty may serve as instructional mentors and receive stipends for participation in these activities.

Blackboard Tip #57 with Pete Monahan
--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
Use Assignments to manage student assignments in Blackboard. When you assign work to your students in your online courses, use the Assignment tool instead of the Digital Drop Box. With the Assignment tool, you can post the actual assignment, create a gradebook entry, and provide a safe and secure way for your students to turn in their work. Furthermore, when students have turned in their work, an exclamation point (!) appears in the gradebook alerting you. Attachments can be opened directly from the gradebook, feedback can be given, and grades submitted easily! So, from any content area (Assignments, Course Materials, etc.) use the drop down list on the right-hand side to add an Assignment to a folder or Learning Unit.
