Quality Enhancement Plan
May 2007/2008
What is QEP?
Regent is undergoing Reaffirmation of Accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Regent must meet Institutional Compliance and create a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The QEP is a new requirement for SACS accreditation. The QEP is “used to outline a course of action for institutional improvement by addressing one or more topics that contribute to institutional quality, with special attention to student learning."
The QEP must be a new plan, not yet implemented at the time of our SACS site visit in 2009. The plan must contain
- A maximum of 75 pages with no more that 25 additional pages in an appendix
- A focused topic related to improving the quality of learning in a global context (specific topic yet to be determined) - each department or school brainstorms their plan.
- Clear goals - community agrees upon top goals.
- Adequate resources to implement the plan
- Evaluation strategies for determining the achievement of goals
- Evidence of community development and support of the plan
Ultimately, the goal of the QEP is to improve student learning.
If our QEP is received favorably, we will need to send annual reports to SACS for 5 years with a major report due the fifth year.
Important Dates:
- Fall School Faculty Retreats, August 2007

- Fall Faculty Retreat, August 16 & 17
