Parking Policy & Procedures

All Regent University faculty, staff and students are required to register their vehicles and motorcycles with Student Services.

  • The parking sticker application is available online on the Student Services home page (parking form).
  • Parking stickers will be sent via interoffice mail to staff and faculty.
  • Students can pick up parking stickers at Student Services in SC 201.
  • The sticker must be placed on the inside of the windshield behind the rear view mirror, out of the line of sight. Do not place the sticker on your car bumper. Stickers are not transferable. Any vehicle not displaying a parking sticker or fully completed visitor pass is subject to ticketing.

A student parking charge is billed each semester to your student account. The charge is mandatory for every on-campus student who owns or drives a motor vehicle on campus (Regent, Founders Inn, Regent Village, Regent Commons, etc.) and who enrolls in three or more credit hours of on-campus courses during the academic year. Parking fee waiver forms are available in the Business Office and online for students who are eligible for waiver consideration. You will not need to get a new sticker each year. Your sticker will be valid as long as you are at Regent.

Faculty, staff and students must park only in regular parking spaces in the following university lots: Classroom Building, Robertson Hall, Library/Administration and Communication & Performing Arts Center. You may park in The Founders Inn lot, or you may park in the CBN Corporate Support Building lot if you need to use that building. CBN Studio Headquarters lot (across from the Student Center) is off-limits to Regent faculty, staff and students, with the exception of full-time Regent employees of the Student Center and COGS and RUC officers, whose vehicles are required to display the appropriate hang tag.

Residential/Student Housing Lots
Effective August 1, 2011, Regent Village and Regent Commons parking lots will be designated as Residential Lots (“R-Lots").  These lots are to be used exclusively by residents and registered guests of the Regent Commons and Regent Village on-campus residential areas. Current student residents of Regent Village or Regent Commons will be issued a red “R” resident sticker for their vehicle.  Guests of student residents parking in the R-Lots will need to obtain a guest pass from the Regent Village or Regent Commons Student Housing Offices.

Violations: Parking violations are $50 for most offenses, $150 for parking in a disabled spot, and $100 for parking without a hangtag in the Studio Headquarters parking lot across from the Student Center. All fines are to be paid to the cashier in the university Business Office within ten days. Fines will be placed on student accounts if not paid by the deadline. Terminating employees with unpaid fines will have the amount of the fines with any applicable penalties deducted from their final paychecks.

Your vehicle may be ticketed and/or towed if parked in unauthorized locations such as: reserved (permit parking only) spaces, ACLJ reserved spaces, disabled spaces, visitor spaces, loading zones, fire lanes, no-parking areas, driveways and non-paved areas. Vehicles in R-Lots without a red R sticker or a guest pass will also be subject to ticketing or towing. Vehicles parked in fire lanes or in other areas where safety is affected, especially in the shuttle thoroughfare, will be towed at owner’s expense.

Disabled Parking: Disabled parking spaces are subject to ticketing by Virginia Beach police. Those who require these accessible parking spaces should apply for a disabled placard or plate from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. For more information, visit http://www.dmv.virginia.gov/webdoc/citizen/disability/plates_assist.asp.

Amerigroup Parking: Regent vehicles are not authorized to park in the Amerigroup parking lot across from Robertson Hall. Regent vehicles parked in this lot are subject to ticketing and/or towing.

King's Shuttle: The King’s Shuttle provides free transportation around campus to all Regent, Founders Inn and CBN staff and students. Visit their website for current hours and route.

Reserved Spaces: Numbered reserved parking spaces are available for faculty and staff. Additional reserved ACLJ parking spaces are also available on campus. Reserved spots are accessible only to the parking space holder 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Student Services maintains a waiting list for reserved spaces. Parking in a reserved space without the Reserved Space hangtag may result in the vehicle being towed, regardless of time of day. People with a reserved parking space must also affix a parking sticker to their windshield.

Housing Visitor Parking: If you will be receiving visitors at the Regent Commons or Regent Village you must acquire a visitor parking pass for your guests. You can obtain a Student Housing guest temporary parking permit from Regent Commons Office located in Constitution Hall Room #101 or Regent Village 5960 Room #104 during Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm business hours.

Overnight Parking: No vehicles may be left in Regent/CBN/Founders Inn parking lots overnight unless pre-authorized. Any vehicle not authorized for overnight parking will be subject to ticketing and/or towing at the owner’s expense. Vehicles left on campus overnight must be officially registered with Student Services and display a current Regent parking sticker. Contact stusrv@regent.edu or call 352.4103 to request authorization to park your vehicle overnight or longer. Do not park your car for an extended period of time in The Founders Inn lot if you are not a guest of the hotel.

Campus Visitor Parking/Reserved Parking for Special Events: We have temporary parking permits available in Student Services for visitors. If you will be receiving visitors on campus, please request the number of permits you need. Each visitor to our campus must have a parking permit and must park only in regular parking spaces. Guests must be issued a temporary parking pass for each car that is on campus. It is extremely important that a representative from the department or school completes the pass before issuing.

All visitors should be directed to park in the Communication parking lot "L" (see campus map). It is not neccessary to issue temporary parking passes for visitors parked in the Communication parking lot. Anyone scheduling an event on campus that requires a temporary reserved parking spot for a special guest/caterer must request the space by emailing adminfacilities@regent.edu as there are a limited number available. Please note that this is limited to one or two reserved spots per event. An exception will be considered for court competitions sponsored by the Regent Law School allowing for a maximum of five spaces per competition event.

Event coordinators will need to follow these steps:

  • Cars parked in these spaces must have a green visitor pass displayed on the dashboard clearly identifying them as the intended user of the reserved spot.
  • The event coordinator must create the sign (8.5 X 11, portrait orientation, with the name of event or name of user; the date and time of use must be included).
  • In addition, the event coordinator should turn the cone to say "Reserved" and place the sign into the plastic sleeve. The coordinator must turn the cone around to show "Available" at the conclusion of its use and remove the sign.
