Global Impact

While the goal of the RU Global campaign is to increase the global competence of our students, Regent has been—and is—involved in a number of initiatives that point to the importance we place on this goal. Think Peru, England, Israel, France ... even Dubai.

DubaiEast met West as a number of Regent University women were among global leaders who converged in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for the Women as Global Leaders Conference hosted by Zayed University. Faculty, students and alumni of Regent's Schools of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship, Education and Divinity were selected to lead sessions on leadership.

In Israel, students from Regent Law take classes at the prestigious Hebrew University and University of Haifa. They have worked with Israeli courts and government institutions, met an Israeli Supreme Court Justice and attended a court trial, giving them a greater understanding of the Middle East.

StrasbourgStrasbourg, France, home of the European Court of Human Rights and headquarters for the European Centre for Law and Justice, is the site of another unique program sponsored by Regent Law. Here students take courses in International Human Rights, Comparative Law, Civil Liberties and Legal History at the University of Strasbourg.

A Summer Study Program in Oxford, England, takes students and others to The Kilns, home of C.S. Lewis, and to Magdalen College, where Lewis taught. Traveling with professors from Regent's School of Communication & the Arts, participants study Lewis' works and see firsthand the locations and influences from which he derived his inspiration.

PeruRegent's School of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship (GLE) is doing extraordinary things in Peru PDF, where, since 2003, thousands of young Peruvian entrepreneurs have attended comprehensive training programs designed by GLE.

Through each of our schools, Regent University is expanding globally: Divinity is developing a new master’s program to serve international church leaders; Psychology & Counseling, through its Center for Trauma Studies, is partnering with organizations like Global Aid Network in Canada and Operation Blessing to counsel victims of disaster; and both Education and Government are providing internships at the UN through the Institute of Disabilities to promote a culture of life around the world. And beyond our existing study abroad opportunities, Regent’s School of Undergraduate Studies (RSU) is partnering with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities’ Study Abroad program to extend its international study program.

The future will bring even more opportunities for Regent students to increase their global competence in very tangible ways. Both GLE and our RSU are now working on specific curriculum modifications that will ensure we achieve our goal.
