1. What is a QEP?

A Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a required component of the SACS accreditation process. It describes a carefully designed course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic related to enhancing student learning over a five-year period.


2. What is SACS?

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.


3. Why is accreditation important to Regent University?

Regent University is committed to providing public trust and professional quality in all its educational programs and services. We achieve this, in part, by accountability—meeting nationally endorsed standards set by an independent, regionally recognized authority.

For students, accreditation also means that the programs they enroll in are engaged in continuous review and
quality improvement.

For faculty, accreditation provides a formal process for ongoing evaluation and improvement of program and
faculty development outcomes.
