During five exciting days high school students will learn to master the basics of digital photography. In the mornings, emphasis will be placed on the theory and rules of photography such as lighting, composition and many others. Each learned technique includes hands-on indoor and outdoor practice shoots. Participants will learn to take a wide range of photographs including how to capture creative and powerful images. The week includes the study of photo-art, famous photographers, and Pulitzer Prize winning photographs.

Students will spend the afternoon in a computer lab, learning how to edit and process photos with various Adobe Cloud applications, such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and others. Miscellaneous Social Media tools will be explored that are known for the distribution and publication of photographs.

Equipment: Participants need to bring a high-end digital consumer camera or semi-professional camera to each session. If possible also a tripod.
High-end cameras generally have multiple shooting modes such as aperture priority, including full manual settings and various flash modes. In addition they should have a megapixel range of 8 or higher and a built-in zoom lens.

Semi-professional cameras are also known as digital DSLR’s with interchangeable lenses.
One session will cover cell phone / smart phone photography!
