Course Description:
Dr. David Barlow, a renowned expert and author on emotional disorders, provides a fascinating 4 hour presentation on the “Transdiagnostic Unified Approach”, a treatment for emotional disorders. Dr. Barlow discusses the issues that have lead the field in this direction, then teaches the modules of this approach in a step-by-step fashion and demonstrates the approach with recorded sessions.Learning Objectives:
This course is designed to help you:
- Discuss new approaches based on the knowledge accumulated over the years that is leading to a Transdiagnostic unified approach to treatment for emotional disorders.
- Analyze this approach in relation to specific emotional disorders.
- Observe video demonstrations of the core modules of the Transdiagnostic unified treatment for emotional disorders.
Instructor:
Dr. Barlow is an internationally renowned and highly influential clinical psychologist and scientist. His work has dramatically contributed to the development of scientifically supported clinical practice with a range of emotional disorders and clinical difficulties. His work represents an unparalleled marriage of scientific rigor and clinical utility that has led him to be one of the most sought after consultants for professionals in developing standards and policies related to clinical practice. He is a prolific author, having published over 500 professional articles and chapters and over 50 books relevant to emotional disorders and clinical research methodology. His work has been translated into over 20 languages. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Distinguished Scientific Award for the Applications of Psychology from the American Psychological Association. His many professional/scientific service roles have included numerous editorships and functioning as the co-chair for the DSM working group on the revision of the anxiety disorders.
