Winter 2009

Welcome from Academic Affairs

Dr. Carlos Campo

Dear Colleagues,

Thanks for taking the time to read through our Winter E-Newsletter; we hope it is informative. In this edition, you will read the latest SACS accreditation update, hear about two new committees, get an outreach update and learn what’s new in undergrad—among other RU news. We are facing a challenging season, as the world financial crisis threatens all of higher education with reduced enrollments, lower revenues and all of the fiscal challenges that go along with those changes. Our students will need our support in prayer and in academic areas to succeed as fully as they should, and we thank you in advance for reaching out to them with renewed vigor and faith.

This winter will be a busy time at Regent, as we prepare for next fall’s incoming classes, create more online opportunities for students, are visited by our SACS on-site team and implement our Quality Enhancement Plan, related to enhancing global competence. We are always looking to improve our work and welcome your input. Is there some aspect of Regent University life that you would like to see covered more fully? A subject that deserves careful study? Please let us know by submitting a note to our e-suggestion box. Remember, we award the best suggestion for each newsletter, and last edition’s top “suggestioner” (Trisha Dyer) recently received a gift card to thank her for the excellent comments. We look forward to hearing from you.

To God be the glory, and may He order our steps and guide our hands now and always for His service.

Blessings and grace,

Carlos
