IRB Committee

The IRB is a committee comprised of academicians representing each of the schools within Regent University (aka School IRB Chairs) along with two additional members (one from Academic Affairs and the other being outside of Regent University) and Administrative Support.

The IRB Committee has a Chairperson and Co-Chair who oversee the Full Committee Reviews and uphold the IRB standards in accordance with the OHRP and HHS Compliance Assurance Agreement.

In most cases you will be meeting with the respective IRB Chair from the School in which your research is associated. The depth of the review process is dependent upon the type of research that you are proposing. IRB reviews are classified as exempt, expedited, or full committee review (further explained in Guidelines). Each of these categories requires a submission to the IRB, although the review time and guidelines vary.
