Commencement

Adjuncts who teach the equivalent of two or more courses a year (including summer) are encouraged to participate in the spring commencement ceremony. Regalia arrangements should be made through the Academic Coordinator, Erica LeMelle, no later than March 15. The College of Arts & Sciences is unable to reimburse adjunct instructors for travel or regalia costs.

Commissioning

Adjuncts who teach the equivalent of two or more courses a year (including summer) are also invited to attend the spring commissioning of graduating seniors in the College of Arts & Sciences. Commissioning is a special ceremony which takes place the evening before commencement. During this time of blessing, faculty give each of the students a verse of scripture and take time to pray over them.

Faculty Retreat

Each fall before the semester begins, the College of Arts & Sciences holds a retreat designed with for both new and veteran faculty. It is packed with special speakers; hands-on workshops; seminars on learning technology, integration of faith, assessments, and much more! The goals of the faculty retreat are as follows:

  1. To further the mission of Regent University and the College of Arts & Sciences;
  2. To reveal how instructors can take better advantage of the shared resources Regent University provides;
  3. To identify ways that can better prepare teachers for instruction, online and in the classroom;
  4. To create an environment for instructors to interact and help one another through collaboration, building relationships that span beyond this weekend together.
    The retreat is fully funded by the College of Arts & Sciences.
