What is Peer Mentorship?
The Peer Mentorship Program exists to assist new students with:
- Acclimating to academic life and feeling comfortable with the academic structure of Regent University
- Socializing/Interacting within the Online Regent Community
- Acquiring support in areas of life that affect each student individually
Length of Program
Enrollment for Peer Mentoring is open before each 8-week session begins. The program runs through the duration of an 8-week session, after which the mentor and mentoree have the option of staying in touch on a voluntary basis.
The Office of Undergraduate Student Services provides suggested topics for the 8 weeks of the program, and suggests the mentor and mentoree communicate at least once per week.
Students who request to be a mentor longer than one session may do so, on a session-to-session basis.
This isn't pressing, so don't feel like you have to change it right away.
