Residential students should arrive at their assigned residence halls on “move-in” Monday within the timeframe indicated on their housing assignment letter (either 8:00 am - 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm). Once the student has completed check-in at campus housing, they should visit the orientation check-in held in the Student Center from 10:00 - 4:00 pm.
Commuting students should arrive at the Student Center on Monday to check-in from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
Is this event mandatory?
This event is required for traditional-aged freshmen and transfers students, who are 23 years and younger, and plan to study on campus nine (9) or more credit hours, regardless of whether they live on campus or live with family in the Hampton Roads area. Students should confirm their attendance. Statistically, students who attend Welcome Week persist to their second year at a higher rate than students who do not attend. Students who are married and not looking for a traditional experience should contact the orientation office at email@example.com. Learn more about Welcome Week.
Why must students register?
Confirming your attendance helps us tremendously in preparing a great experience for you and your guests. Please register here.
Is there programming for parents and guests?
Parents and other guests are encouraged to participate in the activities of the “move-in” day only. After move-in day, there is no further orientation programming for parents or guests. Parents and guests are encouraged to allow the students to immerse themselves fully into the Welcome Week experience beyond move-in day.
Will I receive an orientation packet?
Regent’s orientation packet is available to all students, parents and guests online at www.regent.edu/orientation/packet. Doing so allows us to add more content (including videos), make it available well before you arrive on campus, and exercise good financial stewardship. Since materials are available all year round, we will update materials each year by the end of July.
Where could my parents or guests stay?
Parents and guests can stay at Founders Inn with advanced registration, but they are not permitted to stay with students in the residence halls. In addition, we have provided a list of nearby accommodations for parents and guests.
