Most of our students come to Regent with little or no experience with learning in an online environment. Studying at the University level can be as challenging as it is exhilarating. Some students have concerns about studying online, using Blackboard and other technologies, or just acclimating to Regent and University life in general. Hence, all incoming undergraduate students have the opportunity to engage in a self-paced, no-cost, non-credit online orientation entitled "Keys to Successful Learning."
At the conclusion of the orientation, we expect incoming students to:
Understand what to expect and how to succeed as learners who engage in an online context;
Feel more confident about their abilities to succeed in this learning environment;
Learn about the resources available to help them succeed; and
Appreciate the characteristics that are inherent in online learning.
"We believe that Keys to Successful Learning will be a tremendous benefit to students as they'll have the opportunity to acclimate to the learning environment before their classes begin," said Kyle Graham, Director of Student Engagement and Retention. "Moreover, since most courses at Regent Undergrad have an online component, all students will benefit from this orientation."
Students are automatically enrolled in this free, self-paced orientation within one week after they have been accepted and paid their enrollment fees. For questions, please contact Students Support Services at 800.722.3680 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
