Campus Connection FAQs


Residential students should arrive at their assigned residence halls on “move-in” Wednesday from 8:00 am -5:00 pm. Once the student has completed check-in at campus housing, they should visit the orientation check-in held in the Student Center from 8:00 - 5:00 pm.

Commuting students should arrive at the Student Center on Wednesday to check-in from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.

Is this event mandatory?

We highly encourage residential or commuting students (and their parents) to attend. Past participants have found this experience very beneficial. Learn more about Campus Connection. Programming for parents is only on the first evening.

Why must students register?

Your registration helps us tremendously in preparing a great experience for you and your guests. Further, this event has a limit on the number of people who can register. Please register here.

Why is there a fee for parents, but not for students?

Good financial stewardship is a basic principle we embrace. Some costs must be deferred to non-student attendees to cover certain expenses. However, we work diligently to keep these deferred costs as low as possible.

Can parents or guests share a registration?

Parents and other guests cannot share an event registration fee. If you are not staying for the evening programming, the fee is not required.

What is the cancelation policy?

Guest cancellations received fewer than 10 days prior to the event date, and registered guests who do not attend, are not eligible for a refund.

How do I register more than two guests?

One or two more guest registrations can be added by registering again with the new guest information.

Why is there a limit to the number of guests each student can bring?

We encourage students to bring people who will be most directly involved and invested in their educational experience—usually their parents. Limiting the number of guests helps to focus on students and their parents and create a better experience. Further, as some programming is indoors, our capacity is limited.

Is there programming for parents and guests?

Parents and other guests are encouraged to participate in the activities of the “move-in” day only. After move-in day, there is no further orientation programming for parents or guests. However, parents are welcome to “take care of business” on Thursday and Friday during normal office hours.

Will I receive an orientation packet?

Regent’s orientation packet is available to all students, parents and guests online at Doing so allows us to add more content (including videos), make it available well before you arrive on campus, and exercise good financial stewardship.

Where could my parents or guests stay?

Parents and guests can stay at Founders Inn with advanced registration, but they are not permitted to stay with students in the Commons. In addition, we have provided a list of nearby accommodations for parents and guests.
