Mission Statement

Regent University's Government Camp provides a state-of-the-art experience for high school students to prepare them for strategic leadership in government, law enforcement and society.

General Details

Camp Location Regent University Campus; numerous day field trips throughout Hampton Roads
Camp Participants Students in grades 9-12 (as of the fall semester of this year)
Dates & Times

July 20-24, 2015

  • Check-in at 7:30 AM on Monday, July 20
  • Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Friday 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM
  • Closing banquet at 6:30 PM (includes parents)
Cost & Deadlines

Cost covers materials, field trip transportation, all special speakers and presentations, t-shirts, snacks, lunches, and final banquet for the student and his or her parents.1

Early registration: $375/camper2; deadline May 31

Late registration: $425/camper2; deadline June 1-June 30

1 There will be a $40/guest charge for additional attendees at the banquet. Contact the Camp Coordinator to make arrangements for additional guests.
2 Balance must be paid in full no later than final registration deadline of June 30, 2015.


Maximum of 35 students. All enrollment is subject to availability and filled on a first-paid, first-completed forms basis.

Mandatory Forms

Each camper MUST have each of the three camp forms completed and on file before he or she will be allowed to participate. Forms are due (or postmarked) no later than July 1. You may submit these forms by:

Field Trips

Past Field Trips Have Included*:

  • ACADEMI Training Center – The largest private training center in the country
  • U.S. Coast Guard Station – One of the East Coast's busiest commercial ports
  • Langley Air Force Base – An up-close look at the F-22 Raptor and pilot training
  • Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training & Evaluation Unit –Techniques for explosive identification and disposal
  • Old Dominion University's Vision Lab – Computer-based facial recognition systems, for anti-terrorism use

*(All field trips are within the Hampton Roads area and northern North Carolina)

Accommodations Regent University's Government Camp is a non-residential day camp. Learn more about accommodations.
Cancellations & Refunds
  • Regent University will give a refund only if the camper’s vacated spot can be filled from a waiting list. Tuition is non-refundable under any other circumstances.
  • If full payment is not received prior to the enrollment deadline, the camper will lose their spot without a refund.
  • Regent University reserves the right to cancel a camp with a full refund if it does not meet the required enrollment of 32 campers.
