Students majoring in Psychology may also choose an emphasis in the area of Substance Abuse Treatment. The Substance Abuse Emphasis may allow for a qualified student to apply for State Certification as an Assistant to a Substance Abuse Counselor. Requirements may vary by state, as certification is granted by the state in which the student tests. Students should follow-up with their State Board of Psychology for more information on whether or not this applies to their circumstances.
In addition to studying stimulating and creative subject matter, you will be learning alongside students and professors in a supportive online learning community. Through the use of class forums, blogs, and the latest version of the online Blackboard classroom technology, you can easily ask questions and bounce ideas off your classmates and professors.
