My wife and I moved to the Hampton Roads area 10 years ago as I began the pursuit of my PhD at Old Dominion University. During that time we found a wonderful church home at Central baptist Church in Portsmouth. My time at Central has been highlighted by the enjoyment of teaching Sunday school, establishing and directing a 200 child Upward basketball and cheerleading league, and also coaching the Central Christian Academy middle school volleyball team.
In my professional life, my current research has spanned from the Southeast Virginia to the Panama Canal. I have taught biology at Regent University, Old Dominion University, Norfolk State University, and Tidewater Community College. Teaching at Regent provides me with the opportunity to unify my Christian beliefs with my scientific studies and pass that knowledge to my students. The academic environment at Regent is unlike any public university because educated debate is fostered without bias or stigma.
