Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business with an Emphasis in Economics: Degree Overview

On-Campus and Online Degree Overview

Economics is a valuable complement to a number of other majors in the College of Arts and Sciences.  Regent University is positioned well to offer a growing Economics emphasis and Economics minor within the Business major.  The courses build on the moral perspectives of the Austrian school of Economic thought.  Our students can use this emphasis as an strong addition to their Business major; and then consider linking this field of study with graduate programs in Business, Law or Government.

  • Students majoring in Business can choose to concentrate in five areas, including Accounting, General Management, Marketing, Human Resources — and now Economics
  • New in 2014: The Business major is adding three Economic courses to the current four courses available in the curriculum that are integral to offering Regent students a rigorous economics emphasis within the major. As with other business emphases, students are required to select four (4) courses (12 credits) within the emphasis. The new economics emphasis will be comprised of the following four (4) courses:
    • ECON 320 Intermediate Microeconomics (3)
    • ECON 290/GOVT 290 Political Economy (3)
    • ECON 360 Entrepreneurship, Market Processes and Economic Development (3)
    • ECON 450 History of Economic Thought (3)
