Moot Court American
Collegiate Competition
Regent University School of Law hosted its fifth undergraduate moot court competition on November 20-21, 2009.
This year's problem involved two issues surrounding the Fourth and Eighth Amendments. Sixteen teams, from various undergraduate institutions, competed in the competition. The competition concluded with an awards banquet where Bonnie Creef, Regent School of Law Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, encouraged students about overcoming obstacles. Numerous awards were given for best teams, excellency in oral advocacy, and also for the best team over all.
This competition is designed to introduce undergraduate students to the art of appellate advocacy and to prepare them for the rigors of law school. It allows students to show case their public speaking skills and judges focus on the students' ability to extemporaneously answer complex legal questions.
