Membership Selection

The Journal of Global Justice and Public Policy (“JGJPP”) Staff selection process is open to students from both the Regent University School of Law (“Law School”) and the Robertson School of Government (“RSG”).

Law School Students
Application Requirements for prospective JGJPP members:

2.6 (minimum) cumulative Law School GPA,
Completed 30 Law School credit hours, and
Participate in the annual Law School Write-On Competition

Law School Write-on Competition
Application to join the JGJPP is made by participating in and completing the annual Law School Write-On Competition.  The Law School Write-On Competition is conducted at the end of each spring semester and its completed in either one of two ways:

Submission of a law review style article and
Completion of a Bluebook exercise
Or

If the student ranks in the top 5% of their class (at the end of the spring semester) only completion of a Bluebook exercise is required.
Applicants should indicate the JGJPP as their primary journal choice.  The topic for the annual Law School Write-On Competition is chosen by the editors of the Law School’s academic journals and is the same for all applicants.

RSG Students
Application Requirements for prospective JGJPP members:

3.6 (minimum) cumulative RSG GPA,

Completed 15 RSG credit hours, and
Complete the law review style article writing portion and Bluebook exercise from the Law School Write-On Competition

Membership Selection
The editors of the Law School’s academic journals set the deadline for submission, and invitations are usually extended to desired staff members several weeks after the submission deadline (usually by late June).  All membership invitations are extended on the basis of the applicant’s performance in the Law School Write-On Competition (both in quality of their writing sample and Bluebook exercise), and the JGJPP’s staff position openings for the upcoming year.
