Requirements

  • Meeting at Regent OrdinaryApplicants must have a "J.D. equivalent" degree; they must show that their degree qualifies them to practice law in their home country or that they are eligible for licensure.
  • Regent University School of Law is not able to certify J.D. equivalency.
  • Applicants whose transcripts are not in English must subscribe to the services of a recognized credential evaluation agency such as www.wes.org.
  • TOEFL - Applicants should submit at minimum one of the following scores on the TOEFL exam:  600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based) or 100 (internet-based); or
  • IELTS/PTE - You may also submit the following scores in lieu of the TOEFL: 7 (internet-based) on the IELTS exam, or 68 (internet-based) on the PTE Academic exam.
  • LL.M. students must complete 24 credit hours, and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, to receive the degree.

Deadlines

Applicants must apply to the law school and be accepted to the LL.M. program, and also separately apply to the University to be admitted as an international student.  LL.M. students begin study in the fall semester. 

The following application deadlines are firm and cannot be waived:

Fall Deadline (Classes begin in August)

  • LL.M. Application due to the Office of Law School Admissions before March 15.
  • Regent University International Admissions Application and supporting documents due to the Office of International Student Services before April 15.* 

Spring first-time enrollment is not available for the LL.M. Program.

Tuition

Tuition for the LL.M. program is consistent with the J.D. program tuition for each academic year (August - July). Tuition for the 2012-13 academic year is $1,095 per credit hour.

Law School scholarships will be considered on a per-student basis determined by the Admissions committee.  No additional scholarship application is required. Students are responsible for securing appropriate funding through personal and private resources, which may include employers, governments, family, or foundations.
