On Friday night, there will be a showing of Crossing, a Korean film based on a true story that highlights the difficulty of life in North Korea and the plight of North Korean refugees through the story of one family's struggles and escape through China. On Saturday there will be a panel discussion highlighting what is taking place inside North Korea's labor camps, other human rights abuses in North Korea, the plight of North Korean refugees, the difficulty in formulating a comprehensive foreign policy to protect the refugees, and suggestions for involvement in North Korean human rights advocacy.
