Hot Issue

As important as it is to thoroughly know what one intends to say, knowing how to communicate also matters.  Soaring speech without an accompanying concern for one's listeners will frequently amount to mere noise.

But it's difficult to be civil, isn't it, when you're discussing important issues and ideas?

On this point, Thomas Frank has some interesting advice for Speaker Pelosi and other advocates of the new healthcare plan winding its way through Congress.

Chuck Colson's plea for civility is, as Colson's thoughts often are, well worth a read.

How should Christians, especially those of us who deal with the law, speak the truth in love in an age of incivility?  Are there practical ways to further dialogue without alienating your opposition?
