As a first year law student you will begin your legal education with basic first-year courses in Torts, Property, Civil Procedure, Contracts and Legal Research and Writing.  These first-year courses will provide you with a solid intellectual foundation upon which more complex legal courses will build in your second and third years.  First-year law students will also complete a course unique amongst ABA accredited law schools while attending Regent University- Christian Foundations of Law.  Because all incoming first year law students are enrolled in the same courses, the classes are broken down into smaller sections to ensure more interaction between students and faculty.

In addition to basic first year course work, incoming students will be given opportunities throughout the semester to participate in oral arguments, moot court and negotiations competitions to help develop oral advocacy skills.  These competitions are a great way for students to gain exposure to the adversarial system while practicing crucial lawyering skills.

The links to the left will provide students with helpful information that will assist them in preparing for their transition into a study of the legal curriculum.
