| The Regent in Richmond program is a nonpartisan service designed to aid Members of the Virginia General Assembly in their legislative duties by having Regent University students provide research and other assistance pursuant to individual legislators' requests. The government and law school students, who are selected on the basis of their academic standing, interest and availability, will fulfill the legislators' requests under the supervision of Regent faculty members. The students are prepared to find out what other states have done or are doing to solve various legislative problems; how the courts have ruled in regard to particular policy issue; provide talking points and other speech material; prepare written and computerized files on issues; and perform other research duties during the current legislative session and within the time limits requested by the legislators. |
