Is a professional internship required of all students?
RSG students are required to do an internship; however, for those students who enter the School of Government with an extensive background and years of service in a government field or agency, the internship can be waived and replaced with an elective. The student’s academic advisor must approve this.

What types of jobs and internships are available to me while I am at Regent?
The School of Government has strategic relationships with governmental agencies in the Hampton Roads area, Washington D.C., and beyond. We can help students network with these organizations for the purposes of internships and sometimes full time jobs. Our students consistently intern at the Republican National Committee, the Democratic National Committee, the United States Senate, The United States House of Representatives, various cabinet departments, policy think tanks, and local government agencies in the Virginia Beach area and beyond.
