Background

I grew up on the border of Texas and Mexico and have had the opportunity to go to amazing schools my entire academic career. I have been challenged by God-fearing mentors to press on and make a difference for Christ. My teachers have played a pivotal role in exhorting me towards pursuing my call and encouraging me to come to Regent. I received my bachelor’s degree in Government/Social Work and minored in English.
RSG Experience

Jesus Christ and the Bible are honored at the Robertson School of Government. The professors here not only share wisdom, but they dare to teach absolute truth. Their office doors and hearts are open to the students. They live out what they teach, and they inspire us with a holy fear of God so that we can go out from here and do the same.

When I first came to the Robertson School of Government (RSG), I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but as I was challenged to press in and seek God’s will for my life by the faculty—I found who I was truly created to be. The professors here are not content to just let you pursue a worthy career goal. They are intent on you knowing the heartbeat of God so that you can fulfill your life’s purpose and live out your passion.
I began my course at RSG, thinking that I would graduate as a joint law/public policy student. Thanks to the support I received from the RSG faculty, I have found the courage to pursue my true passion: capturing the hearts and imaginations of children. I am now a joint degree student with the School of Communication and will eventually pursue a doctorate in Education. I hope to create children’s television programming with a moral message and would like to use my government degree to help shape the nation’s educational policy and lobby for quality children’s programming.

My experience at the Robertson School of Government has truly been a gift from God. It has been wonderful, intense and sobering all at the same time. It has certainly been better and more challenging to my walk with God than I could have hoped for. My study of the foundation of this nation, good government and character certainly confirm that I am headed in the right direction.

God has taught me to lean on Him more. Our talents and abilities can only take us so far; His perfect plan can only be accomplished by His grace. I have seen God's care about the little details in my life, and He has come through for me more than ever before.

I love my classmates. They are so much more than friends—they are family! I enjoy that even though we all learn from a Judeo-Christian perspective; we bring so many exciting differences and backgrounds to the discussion table. I have not only learned with them, but I have also learned from them.
