Jean Bethke Elshtain has authored 400 scholarly articles and essays and 16 books, including Just War Against Terror, Augustine and the Limits of Politics, Democracy on Trial, New Wine in Old Bottles and Women at War. Her faculty appointments include positions at Vanderbilt, Harvard and Yale. The American Academy of Arts and Sciences elected her as a fellow, and the Rockefeller and Guggenheim Foundations granted her research awards. She earned a Ph.D. and an M.A. (Brandeis University), and an A.B. (Colorado State University) and holds nine honorary doctorates.
