JOINT DEGREE WITH LAW
Admissions Materials for Joint Govt. and Law Applicants

The Robertson School of Government will share admissions pieces with the School of Law. Incomming Joint Government and Law applicants should submit an email with the following list to the School of Law allowing them to release these specific materials to Lisa Olson in the Robertson School of Government:

  1. Goal Statement
  2. LSAT Score and Writing Sample
  3. Complete Law Application
  4. Community Life Statement
 

Please mention in the message to allow your email to serve as written permission to make a copy of the needed listed above materials.

  • For incoming applicants, please email Marie Markham in the School of Law to grant a release.
  • For applicants who are already Law Students, please complete a release form with the Dean's Office. The Dean's Office is also requiring an email from RSG's Admissions Manager before Law materials should be released.

The Law School will no longer provide RSG hard copies of recommendation letters. The Robertson School of Government does not require recommendation letters but instead a reference list as a part of the admissions process. The reference list should consist of 3 names (1 Clergy, 1 Faculty and 1 Professional). Please include the person's phone number, email address, title (if known) and name of the business. The reference list can either be emailed or mailed to Lisa M. Olson, the Admissions Manager.

  • The school of Law's Dean's Office will no longer release LSAT information
  • Current law students need to submit either a student copy of the LSAT (including the score or writing component) from LSAC, take the GRE, or request a GRE waiver.
  • If the current law student is able to access their LSAT writing component, RSG will not require the paper on the "Most Pressing Public Policy ofr Today."

The following materials should be submitted separately to the Admissions Manager:

  1. School of Government Application – Online or Hard Copy
  2. Official Transcripts from all undergraduate and/or graduate institutions attended be submitted directly to RSG for your admissions file (Transcripts submitted to RSG from the School of Law (sent by LSAC) are not considered official)

 

Waived Materials for Government and Law Joint Applicants:

  1. Application Fee – waived if “joint program” was indicated on RSG application and you have already submitted payment for your law application.
  2. Writing Sample on “The Most Pressing Public Policy Issue for Today” – our committee will evaluate the writing component of the LSAT.
  3. GRE
