Student Status
- Only students who have formally applied and have been officially accepted to enroll at Regent University may register for courses. For more information about applying to the Robertson School of Government as a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student, please see the Admissions page.
Registration Holds
- Outstanding Student Account: Students will not be allowed to register for classes if they have an outstanding balance on their University account.
- All student accounts must be settled through the Business Office by the school deadlines as scheduled on the Academic Calendar.
- Student accounts can be checked and settled online through Genisys.
- Students who have not satisfied all payment requirements by the end of the Add/Drop period will be administratively dropped from courses.
- Unresolved accounts after the end of the appropriate deadline will be charged a late fee.
Time Frame for Registering
- Registration Period: RSG conducts an open registration period for each term during the previous term. See the Academic Calendar for specific registration dates for each semester.
Registering
- Online Registration: GENISYS® is the web-based student information system that allows students to register for courses online.
- Students process all registration via GENISYS® until the day before the start of the term. For an explanation of the Genisys registration process, follow the Genisys Registration Guide.
- After the term starts, students may register through the add/drop process.
Independent Study, Culminating Experience
- Online Registration is not available for Independent Studies or Culminating Experience courses.
- Culminating Experience: Internship, Professional Project, Thesis, PLATO
- To register for a culminating experience, the student must first submit a formal proposal to their faculty advisor.
- Upon approval of the proposal, the student must submit a completed Individual Study Form to RSG Student Services to request registration.

- Independent Study
- Enrollment for individual study credit is subject to dean’s office and advisor approval.
- Students should complete the Individual Study Form, and submit it to RSG Student Services.
