What our students say...
David McIntosh-Peters, Master Teacher, M.Ed.
Why Regent University?
More than a decade ago Regent impressed me as the place to be for several reasons:
1) Its expressed goal is to train regents, leaders who would occupy and serve until the King returns. My first class session challenged me to be a leader in the classroom and among my colleagues; 2) Its willingness to seek greater diversity, while maintaining a Biblical worldview; 3) Instructors helped me strengthen my resolve to allow Biblical precepts to guide my educational perspectives and decision-making; 4) Its passionate commitment to students’ success. Dr. Arroyo made sure that I had the financial and academic assistance necessary for my success; 5) Its unsullied reputation as a Christian institution of academic rigor and high-caliber faculty who serve with compassion. I refer to this as “compassionate rigor” where kind, loving instructors guide you through the academic requirements.
Why School of Education?
Educators, more than anyone, must consistently be at the cutting edge of our craft. The School of Education at Regent provided me then, and will provide students now, with the academic and technological capacities to stay current within our field. However, it is the spiritual aspect, with emphasis on which perhaps is the most significant. Educators are models and mentors for students, so it is critical that we are Christ-like examples. The lessons learned a decade ago as a student in Dr. Komanicki’s character development classes are still with me today - not just as strategy for student behavior, but as part of my character and life.
Why Now?
With the increased need for highly-qualified educators nationally, and specifically regionally, now is the time to gain a well-respected degree from Regent University that would uniquely prepare you to excel in your chosen field, and also propel you into the forefront of job market opportunities. We are in dire need of gifted and trained educators and administrators with a Biblical worldview who are willing to make a difference. If you are thinking about advancing your education, you should know that now is the time and Regent University School of Education is the place.
