ANNOUNCEMENTS

Summer Registration Open

Summer 2009 registration is now open, and will continue through Sunday, May 10th, 2009. The semester officially begins on Monday, May 11th. All students who need to register for summer classes will have access to do so through Genisys. Should you not be able to register for a particular course, such as professional projects, field experiences/ internships, practicum, dissertation or other specialized courses, please contact your advisor as some courses are web restricted for registration and must be done by approval of the advisor. Advisor information is listed below.

Prior to going into Genisys to register, please review the Summer 2009 School of Education schedule.PDFThis schedule is a resource for your use prior to going into so that you may view appropriate course reference numbers (CRNs) and sections suitable for your major program of study. You may also access the Academic Calendars and Catalog so that you may be aware of important information and dates as it pertains to your academic experience: .

Please review ALL of the following information before beginning the registration process as some things may have changed. If you have trouble accessing Genisys due to a hold on your account, please contact your academic advisor at the contact information listed below. If you have trouble accessing Genisys due to an  incorrect password or not having a password, please contact the Computer Help Desk at (757) 352-4076 or helpdesk@regent.edu.

If you find that your are experiencing difficulty registering due to a conditional or provisional hold on your account, it may be due to some admissions requirements that are still outstanding. Such missing requirements could be: official transcripts from previously attended institutions, recommendations, resume, application fee, or official reports of passing Praxis, SAT or ACT or VCLA scores for licensure programs. Your acceptance letter would have indicated the outstanding items or academic requirements of your conditional or provisional status. Please refer to your acceptance letter, check your Genisys account, or contact your advisor if you need more information concerning your status and to make arrangements for satisfying your admissions criteria.

If you find that you are not able to register due to a Business Office hold on your account, this is an indication that you have an outstanding balance on your account from a previous semester. This account must be paid in full before the hold is removed and before you can register for classes. Please check Genisys or the Business Office to resolve any outstanding balance due requirements. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to register for the upcoming semester until all of your requirements have been satisfied. The Business Office can be reached at 757-352-4059 or 4050; toll free at 877-850-8434 or via email to busoff@regent.edu.

We highly encourage students to register for classes via Genisys if you are able. However, we do encourage you to communicate with your advisor prior to registering should you have any questions, concerns, or uncertainty about your registration. If you are a new student, please contact your advisor before registering to ensure proper registration of your required courses during your first semester. Each student is responsible for checking their financial aid status, account balance and registration status via Genisys. Registration statements or hard copy bills are not mailed out to you from the School of Education nor from the Business Office. We encourage you to check Genisys often as your bill may change after your initial registration. Any scholarship or loan money will be posted to your account approximately 10 days before the start of the term. If you find errors while checking your registration, please contact your advisor to work on getting it corrected.

Any student who registers for at least one on-campus (Virginia Beach) course may be charged for student medical insurance. If you already have health insurance coverage and do not need additional coverage through Regent you may waive this option. This can be done by submitting an online Student Health Insurance Waiver form, located at the following website: http://www.regent.edu/admin/busoff/student.cfm. Should you have any questions regarding the health insurance waiver form, please contact the Business Office at 757-352-4050, 877-850-8434, or via email at busoff@regent.edu. This waiver must be submitted by the payment deadline of  Monday, May 11, 2009.

THE SUMMER 2009 PAYMENT DEADLINE IS MONDAY, MAY 11, 2009. All registered students should have University approved payment arrangements in place by this time. These arrangements include payment in full (cash, check, or credit card), certification of federal loan money, a tuition installment plan, or third party billing arrangements in place. All students whose accounts are not paid by this date will incur a $100.00 late fee. All credit card payments are to be made online via Genisys. Unfortunately, payment cannot be taken over the telephone. As mentioned previously, scholarship and/or loan money will be posted to your account approximately 10 days prior to the start of the term. If you apply for financial aid and your loan money has not arrived before the payment deadline, we highly encourage you to make University approved payment arrangements through the Business Office to prevent being dropped from classes due to non-payment. You may contact the Business Office at (757) 352-4059 , 877-850-8434, or busoff@regent.edu to set up all tuition installment plans or third party billing arrangements. If you have questions or concerns regarding your loans, please contact the Central Financial Aid office at (757) 352-4125 or finaid@regent.edu.

As a reminder, Regent University and The School of Education communicates vital information, updates, etc. via your Regent e-mail address. Please be conscientious about checking both your personal and Regent email accounts frequently to obtain most recent information.

We look forward to serving each of you during this registration period and please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further questions.
