Textbook Adoption

If you have a course that does not require a textbook, please use the shorter version of this form. It will be quicker and easier to fill out than this full version.

As the most important step in the textbook adoption process, faculty's ability to provide accurate, complete, and timely textbook information is vital to the success of the entire process. When accurate and complete textbook adoptions are submitted by the deadline, Regent's bookstore is able to submit this information to Specialty quickly and easily, thus allowing students to receive the information as early as possible. The earlier students can access their textbook information, the more likely it is that they will receive books on time and be prepared to begin the semester with all the necessary resources. Textbook adoption requests should be completed using the form below. Before you begin, please remember to do the following:
Gather the following information for each of the courses you will be teaching in the upcoming semester : Course Title Section Estimated enrollment (it is very important that you be as accurate as possible with enrollment estimates, so contact Kristen or Laura to verify projected enrollment.) Beginning date of course
Gather information about each text you will be using, including Full title First and last names of all authors Edition you wish to use Publisher ISBN (The ISBN is the single-most important piece of information needed for each text.) If you do not have the ISBN, you can try to locate it by using one of the following options: From the library web site, select "Books in Print Reviews" from the database listing. Enter your Regent login and password to gain access to the database. Use the search feature to locate the text. Visit an online bookseller, such as Amazon (www.amazon.com) or Barnes & Noble (www.bn.com) to search for the text. Often the ISBN can be found on such sites.
Choose a time to go online when you can devote 5-10 minutes (per course) of uninterrupted time to complete your adoption requests . If you have all the required information for each textbook, the process will go much quicker.
