Congratulations!  You have made an important step in your graduate studies--you have made it to graduation!  We are excited that you have decided to join us for our 2009 Commissioning Ceremony and look forward to meeting your families.

You may be asking, “What is a Commissioning Service?”  To commission someone is “to entrust, or to give authority” or “to appoint or assign to a task or function.”  Within the context of our graduation, Commissioning is a sacred and holy time of worship, consecration, reflection, prayer and anointing.  At graduation you leave from Regent with training and preparation, to go out into the world and fulfill the call God has on your life (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Please keep in mind that the Commissioning ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009 (doors will open at 5:15 p.m.). All graduates are required to wear their gown, but should not wear their cap.  Each graduate must check-in upon arrival at the ceremony and at that time will be given further directions. (NOTE: University Commencement will be held Saturday, May 9. For more information on the Commencement ceremony, click here.)

Each graduate will have three (3) complimentary tickets reserved for guests. Any additional tickets can be purchased for a fee of $5.00 each. If you plan to participate in the Commissioning ceremony, please complete the online RSVP and Commissioning Tickets Order Form rather than the PDF that has to be mailed in so we may plan accordingly. Each graduate planning to attend the service and reception must submit this RSVP along with payment if applicable. Tickets will be available beginning April 1 and will be on sale through 5:00 p.m. on April 24. If we receive your order before April 24, we will mail your tickets to you. If your order is received after this deadline, we will hold your tickets until the night of the ceremony. However, if you wish to pick them up in advance of the ceremony, you may do so Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the School of Education Admissions and Advising suite in the Administration Building, Suite 266.

Please take a moment to complete the School of Education Christian Leadership Survey This post-survey is an integral part of our accreditation data collection process and your participation is highly encouraged and appreciated.
