Regent University paved the way for my teaching career.
The Master of Education programs at Regent are flexible and convenient. I received my initial teaching license in Elementary Education via the M.Ed. in Elementary Education and was immediately offered a teaching position. Once I started teaching I realized that many students struggle with reading. This motivated me to seek more knowledge to assist these students. Upon completing the Reading Specialist program with Regent, I was offered a Reading Specialist position and opportunities to facilitate district-wide professional development. The Reading Specialist endorsement program prepared me to fulfill my passion of teaching reading.
My career has evolved over a short period of time because of my faith and the teacher preparation programs at Regent. The academic, spiritual, and leadership guidance shared during my time at Regent gave me the foundation needed to excel in my field. Not only do I have the research-based reading knowledge but I also have stronger Christian faith and leadership skills to enable me to accomplish my goals to help others. While completing these programs Regent University expected excellence, and I continue to aim high to meet these standards everyday while teaching reading. The School of Education has made a difference in my life. Now, I am able to make a difference in the lives of others by sharing and applying the assessment, curriculum, research, and instruction methods to meet the needs of all students.
