The M.Ed. in Leadership in Character Education program prepared me personally and professionally because it equipped me with an understanding of my spiritual gifts and how to integrate biblical principles into my profession.
The program provided me with leadership skills to grow professionally with the goal of positively impacting schools and youth-serving organizations. The program also equipped me with the knowledge base and experience necessary to integrate character education into standards-based teaching. I learned to identify and assess the needs of students with learning, emotional and behavioral problems and gained the ability to identify and apply strategies that would meet the students' needs. I have been able to successfully integrate each of these skills into my daily work as a Behavioral Counselor in the public schools.
The Leadership in Character Education program is relevant to the needs of at-risk students in our local schools and communities, and I am excited to be able to utilize this degree program so quickly in my career.
