How It Works

Regent University offers online courses through Blackboard™, a user-friendly online learning community that incorporates articles, presentations, and streaming audio and video. It also facilitates student interaction with professors and classmates through a discussion board that functions as a virtual classroom. Take a tour of Blackboard.

Students enrolled in online courses should be proficient in using computers, the Internet and email. Learn more about the recommended computer hardware and software for online courses.

Residencies for Online Master's Students

Regent is one of a number of seminaries approved by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) to offer master's degrees in Practical Theology, Divinity and Theological Studies completely online, with no residency. This allows you to continue to work or serve as you earn your degree from nearly anywhere in the world.

We also offer the option of weeklong or weekend on-campus residencies, or "modulars," built into some online courses.Modulars are a great opportunity for you to connect and unwind in beautiful Virginia Beach, Virginia, as you continue toward your degree.

Residencies for Online Doctoral Students

Weeklong or weekend on-campus residencies, or "modulars," are built into some online courses, according to Association of Theological Schools (ATS) accreditation guidelines, to ensure you receive the highest academic quality and value. Students consistently tell us that the renewal, refreshment and personal attention they receive during these focused weeks of scholarship far exceed their expectations. Structured to delve deeply into key concepts, modular weeks also include rich opportunities to connect with peers and faculty, and to "take a breather" from daily demands and be spiritually transformed.
