Commissioning Service 2013

Congratulations! You have made it through your graduate studies—you have made it to graduation! We are excited that you have decided to join us for our Commissioning Service and look forward to meeting your families and friends.

You may be asking, “What is a Commissioning Service?”  To commission someone is “to entrust, or to give authority” or “to appoint or assign to a task or function.” At graduation you leave from Regent with training and preparation, to go out into the world and fulfill the call God has on your life (Isaiah 61:1-3). Within the context of our graduation, Commissioning is a sacred and holy time of worship, consecration, reflection, prayer and anointing.

Location:
The Commissioning Service will be held in the New University Chapel Building! With the opening of this new campus worship center, the School of Divinity has the blessing of hosting the inaugural Commissioning Service.

Time:
Thursday, May 2nd, at 4:30pm

Please keep in mind that the Commissioning Service will begin promptly at 4:30pm on Thursday, May 2, 2013, but graduates are required to arrive at the Welcome Center Lobby at 2:15 p.m. for check-in! The Welcome Center is the other new building right beside the Chapel.

All graduates are required to wear their gowns, but should not wear their caps. Each graduate must check-in upon arrival at the Welcome Center lobby and at that time will be given further directions. The Commissioning schedule is listed in detail below.
