"Church planting to put God first in Washington D.C."

As lead pastor of DC Metro Church, David is known for his practical Biblical teaching, his visionary leadership and his heart to impact the D.C. metropolitan area. David’s authenticity and his ability to communicate the truth of God’s Word in a humorous, dynamic and revelatory manner helps people understand the Bible and how to apply its teachings to their everyday lives. David is passionate about people coming to know Christ, getting planted in God’s house, and becoming transformational leaders who work together to build “a God-first culture throughout the D.C. metro area.”

As a church planter with the Association of Related Churches (ARC), David launched the first campus of DC Metro Church in a Regal Cinemas theater, only minutes from downtown Washington D.C., in Alexandria, in September, 2007. In just three years, the church has exploded in growth as God’s hand of blessing has been upon it. DC Metro Church now has its own permanent facility and has had to expand to three services every Sunday to accommodate about 750 each week—with plans to establish 20 video-connected, multisite campus churches around the Beltway.

The vision of DC Metro comes from the book of Nehemiah when the prophet Nehemiah was called back to rebuild the walls of his capital city of Jerusalem because the people there had turned from God. In a similar way, DC Metro Church feels called to restore a culture in our capital city where God is placed first again in the lives of the people. David says that “we exist to rebuild the spiritual walls of our nation’s capital and to continue to build a God-first culture throughout the DC Metro area. In the near future, we will begin planting campuses all around the DC Metro area as we humbly continue in this incredibly exciting mission that we believe God has entrusted to us.”
