Research

Initiatives

The School of Psychology & Counseling offers a variety of ongoing research initiatives, many of which also offer practical, hands-on experiences for our students. Other outcomes include paper and poster presentations at regional and national conferences, articles for publication for which students are co-authors, and subject matter for student dissertations.

Research Centers

Because of the unique mission and resources associated with Regent University and the School of Psychology & Counseling, a number of research centers have been developed to engage in those activities that further extend our outreach and influence in the world.

The centers at the School of Psychology & Counseling hold regular events and workshops. In addition to the knowledge gained from hearing renowned speakers, some of these workshops offer certifications and continuing education credits.

Research & Continuing Education

Regent University's School of Psychology and Counseling offers continuing education opportunities bringing outstanding professionals and scientists in counseling, psychology, pastoral ministry, and related fields to present on campus and through online continuing education courses. Past speakers have addressed a wide range of topics, from marital work with struggling couples to evolving roles for psychology in health care. The colloquium series has featured leading psychological researchers, anthropologists, military psychologists, presidents of APA and its divisions, and philosophers to give our academic community cutting edge access to the world of psychological science. The trauma series has provided year-round workshops on treating trauma leading to missionary opportunities and certification as a traumatologist. Simply register, complete the course, and print your certificate. All courses and workshops are available to the public.
