Step 5 - Electronic Format

Virtually every single experience or product can exist or be documented electronically. Any item created on a computer is in a digital format. These items can be placed in your portfolio. Items that are not created with a computer can be added to your portfolio once they have been digitized or an electronic copy is created. The object is to get the items into your computer.

Here are some great ways to add digital items to your portfolio:

Papers

Digital Format - Type a paper on a computer.

Alternative - If you only have a hard copy of a paper, you can scan it to create a digital copy.

Photos

Digital Format - Use a digital camera to take pictures of items.

Alternative - If you used a regular film camera to take pictures, you can ask your film developer for a disk of your pictures in an electronic format which will give you digital files of the pictures, or you can scan the paper photos.

Videos

Digital Format - Use a digital video camera to create digital videos.

Alternative - If you used a regular video camera, you can digitize your videos (convert it to an electronic format).
