2009 School of Psychology and Counseling Commissioning Service
On May 8, 2009 the School of Psychology and Counseling (SPC) acknowledged the accomplishments and the callings of our graduates at the Commissioning Service. To commission someone is “to entrust, or to give authority” or “to appoint or assign to a task or function.” Within the context of our graduation, Commissioning is a sacred and holy time of worship, consecration, reflection, prayer, and anointing. Graduates leave from training and preparation at Regent to go out into the world and step into the call God has on their lives.
As our SPC students boldly move into this calling that God has placed on each of their lives, the school came together as a body to celebrate this next step in their journey, worshiping together and hearing testimonies from their peers about what God has done in and through them during their time at Regent. The ceremony closed with a charge from our Dean to the graduates, followed by the faculty praying over each graduate individually as they are sent out into their callings.
