Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) - Stress Management for the Trauma Provider

This valuable CISM course is for anyone working in people-helping fields, or with those in crisis. In this course, participants will explore the “Stress Continuum,” the levels of stress including eustress, traumatic stress, burnout, countertransference, compassion fatigue, and vicarious traumatization which may occur as a result of helping others. 

A discussion of coping strategies, individual self-report exercises, and an experiential group support session will assist the participating trauma provider in assessing his or her own level of stress. Stress management self care techniques will be presented, experienced, and discussed. Participants will receive the ICISF workbook and ICISF certificate.

This course is designed for anyone who desires to increase their knowledge of managing their stress level when working with victims of trauma. Those working in Crisis or Disaster Response, Emergency Services, Law Enforcement, Schools, Homeland Security, Mental Health, Military, Spiritual Care, Ministry, Health Care, Business & Industry, and Traumatic Stress are encouraged to attend.
