2. Are your programs accredited?

Yes. The university is accredited by the Southern Asociation of Colleges and Schools, the regional accrediting body for our area. This "accredits" all of the university programs. The School of Psychology & Counseling has earned some professional accreditations as well. The M.A. in Counseling, School and Community programs are CACREP accredited (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs). The Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).

7. What are your admissions deadlines?

  • Ph.D. - January 15 (fall entrance only). Contact the Office of Admissions for more details, psycoun@regent.edu, 800.681.5906 / 757.226.4498.

  • Psy.D. - January 15 (fall entrance only)

  • MA in Counseling
    March 1st - Priority Deadline. The last day applications are considered is
    July 31st.

  • MA in Human Services Counseling (Virginia Beach Campus and online) applications should be submitted by the following dates for priority consideration. (The second date listed is the last day applications will be considered for that term):

    Fall - April 1/July 31
    Spring - November 1/December 15
    Summer - March 1/April 15

8. How long does it take to complete your programs? (All estimates based on full-time enrollment.)

  • M.A. in Counseling - 2 to 3 Years
  • M.A. in Human Services Counseling - 1 Year to 18 Months
  • Psy.D. - 5 Years
  • Ph.D. in CES - 3 ½ to 4 Years (depending on length of dissertation completion)
  • CACS - 1 to 2 years (depending upon full or part-time)

9. What are the tuition rates?

  • $600 per credit hour for master's programs and CACS
  • $720 per credit hour for doctoral programs

10. Is there financial aid available?

Yes. Amounts range from modest allowances for books, to full-tuition scholarships. Teaching Assistantships are also available on a limited, competitive basis for the doctorate programs. Over 85 percent of our student body receives financial aid.

11. What denominations are represented on your campus?

All traditional protestant denominations are represented, as well as Catholic and smaller contemporary church denominations. While Regent was founded by Pat Robertson who has roots in the Charismatic, Present Day Renewal Movement, we admit students of all faith backgrounds who are willing to be taught from a Judeo-Christian perspective.
