SPC Faculty & Staff
Dr. Bill Hathaway was recently re-elected to a three-year term on the American Psychological Association (APA) Council of Representatives, the APA's primary elected legislative body.
One of the strengths of the School of Psychology & Counseling (SPC) lies in our distinguished faculty and talented staff. Whether you are in the process of applying, constructing your degree plan, taking courses online or on campus, making plans for after graduation, in need of prayer or you just have a question, our faculty and staff care about your success and are here to help.
Our faculty is made up of professional clinicians, researchers and educators who are dedicated to excellence in their own lives and in the lives of the students they teach. Faculty members give national and international presentations; contribute to hundreds of peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and other scholarly works; and serve in important roles for organizations like the APA Council and Virginia Counselors Association.
But SPC professors donít just stand in front of a classroom—they stand alongside their students as clinical supervisors and mentors who are invested in the overall academic, professional and personal development of those they teach. Itís an encouraging, collaborative environment where students are given opportunities to put their learning into practice and even participate with faculty in outside research and study.
