The Child Trauma Institute is the first and only research center in the country dedicated to studying the dynamics involved in child abuse from a spiritually integrative psychological perspective, with particular emphasis on the religious and spiritual issues faced by victims of child abuse. The institute serves as a leading voice in research, training and practice among psychologists in understanding the role of faith in the prevention of and recovery from various forms of childhood trauma, particularly child abuse.

As such, the institute provides unique training and research opportunities for students in the Psy.D. program within the School of Psychology & Counseling.
