M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Required Courses -
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Emphasis (60 credit hours)

This program provides the academic and applied training necessary for someone seeking employment as a counselor in a private practice, community agency or church counseling center.  It also meets the Virginia Board of Counseling academic requirements for licensure of 60 credit hours.  For qualified students, it can be structured for pre-doctoral studies.  To enhance students’ training experiences, students in the Community Mental Health program will be required to participate in a minimum of four personal-growth counseling sessions. Students are responsible for the cost incurred.
