Mission Statement
To provide a nurturing environment for young people to train, experience and excel in their art alongside professional mentors for the purpose of equipping aspiring artists to impact their world for Christ.
Welcome from the Coodinator
My very first experience with Regent University Summer Camps was in 2005. I had just arrived on campus as a new student and was preparing to audition for Twelfth Night. As I walked backstage, I noticed that a production was in progress. I thought it odd, because I knew that the regular season had not yet begun. I took in the atmosphere around me and noticed that it was a youth production. (If you have ever been back stage at a youth production you understand how I knew.) The atmosphere was electric. Feathers were flying, bright colors swarming and laughter echoing down the halls. Moreover, the teachers seemed to be having just as much fun as the students! I couldn't help being drawn in.
Since that very first summer, I have seen each student progress in his or her craft, whether over the course of one program or many. I have walked alongside students and parents as they see the value of their craft in the eyes of God. And, I have celebrated with them as they begin to understand God's specific calling in each one of their lives. I am now honored to be able to continue to work alongside each student in a new role as the Summer C.A.M.P Coordinator.
The Summer C.A.M.P. has a solid reputation in the community for providing a nurturing environment for young people to train, experience and excel in their art, and this year I look forward to expanding and strengthening the programs that have been the solid foundation for the camp since its inception four years ago.
The most visible of these changes is the addition of the acronym: C.A.M.P. It very simply reiterates what we have always believed—that the camps are a Creative Arts Mentorship Program, not just another class or production that you or your child is in. We are also very excited to round out our program with a 2-D Animation Camp in addition to the Theatre and Film Camps that we already offer.
Our desire in all of these programs is to partner with you to equip your aspiring artist to impact his or her world for Christ. Thank you for your interest in the C.A.M.P and I hope to see you this summer!
Sincerely,
